The latest workout program P90x3 has created a lot of hype after its release. Tony Horton came up with both the P90x and P90x3. Both programs were developed using particular fitness goals in mind. After discussing the pros and cons of both these programs, it’s up to you to decide which program you are going to follow. Let’s start right away with P90x vs P90x3!
P90x3 is divided into three phases. It starts off with a foundation phase that focuses on the proper form needed to do exercises rather than muscle growth. To get the proper form, lightweight exercises are advised for people. One of the routines which focuses on posture is Agility-X; this cardio routine is different from classic cardio routines. The last phase of P90x3 focuses on muscle growth and resistance training. To activate the fast twitch muscle fiber, only 10 reps are advised.
P90x has 12 different workout routines, but the Ab Ripper X is excluded, as it takes a lot of time. P90x has large parts of heavy resistance training, which is effective for training all body parts. The P90x program also focuses on the core as all the exercises are quite stable. The core cardio routine in P90x is PLYO-x.
P90x3 is limited to 30 minutes since 30-minute workouts are more effective as compared to workouts which are 60 or 90 minutes long. On the other hand, the workout time of the P90x program is 1 to 1.5 hours, which makes it the most time-consuming program. P90x2 comes second as the most time-consuming program, having 45 to 60 minutes of workout.
The main advantage of P90x3 is that it integrates exercises from the previous two programs. You burn calories faster when you follow P90x3, which is why it is less time consuming. The other two programs have various exercises which take a lot of time to complete.
As far as the workouts are concerned, P90 and the P90x have 12 workouts each. P90x3 has exercises integrated from both of the previous programs, which is why it has 16 workouts. This means that we have more variety of exercises to work out with.
Similar equipment is needed in P90x and P90x3 workout routines. The program in which equipment is needed the most is P90x2. Almost all the programs need resistance bands, dumbbells, and chin up bars.
The purpose of these programs is to develop muscles without wasting time going to the gym. A test group was made to analyze the results and effectiveness of each program. The P90x test group got very positive results since they wanted to lose weight, while the P90x3 group got overwhelming results where most of the participants achieved their goals.
The results of all programs have been phenomenal, but it is highly recommended that people go for the P90x3 program which saves time and gets you the desired results after you are done with the program.
